Summertime Mint Cooling Spray with Essential Oils

Summertime and hot weather are just around the corner.

It's time for baseball, fishing, camping and lots of other great outdoor activities.

If there's a cool breeze blowing, it can be glorious.

Truthfully, most summer days are stifling and if there's a breeze, it can feel like the blast of a furnace. If you've ever been to a Little League game in July or August, you know what I'm talking about.

Here's a simple and quick way to take the edge off that sweltering heat.

Mint Cooling Spray with Essential Oils.

Incredibly Simple

In a 2 oz bottle or any size you prefer(I like the small size to fit in my purse) simply put any or all of the cooling oils. I recommend no more than 5 drops of Peppermint to this size bottle, a little goes a long way and if you get too much, it can actually feel warm instead of cool. If you use Spearmint and Eucalyptus, make your combination of mint oils between 5-10 drops. If you like, add 5 drops of Lavender. This top the bottle off with water. If you prefer, you could also use Witch Hazel or aloe vera juice(not gel) instead of water.

These cooling oils are:

Oils belonging to the mint family, especially Peppermint which has a high menthol percentage, will help the body feel cooler. It seems that menthol has the ability to trick the receptors in the brain into thinking that the body is cooler than it actually is, especially the parts that come in contact with the menthol.

An added benefit of Peppermint Oil is that it helps to relax and ease tension headaches and muscle aches and pains. Spearmint has significantly less menthol, but it can be a nice addition.

Eucalyptus is an anti inflammatory and an expectorant, so you get the added benefits of helping with that summer cold you might have.

Lavender, while not a mint, is also cooling and relaxing and who doesn't need a bit of calming down at a Little League game?

I like the 2 oz glass bottle to carry with me, but the 8 oz Pet Spray Bottle would be great to keep in your boat or outside on the patio. You don't normally want to use plastic for Essential Oils, but these are made from material that won't be harmed by the EOs.

You can find these bottles at Spark Naturals.

If you don't have any spray with you, you can always grab your sample bottle of Peppermint and just dab a bit on the back of your neck, your temples, wrists, etc. to cool you down.

This cooling spray is also good for those lovely hot flashes that women are so blessed with when we reach that "certain age."

As always, use coupon code PATTI at Spark Naturals for 10% off your order.

Blessings from Patti's Place to your place!
